The story of the Rich Young Ruler occurs after the resurrection of Lazarus while Jesus is hiding from the Jewish leaders in the area around Ephraim, a wilderness area about 15 miles north of Jerusalem. The resurrection of Lazarus created a sense of urgency on the part of the Jewish leaders to arrest and kill Jesus. Jesus and the disciples retreated to Ephraim while they awaited Passover. Back in Jerusalem there is rampant speculation over whether or not Jesus will show up for the festival. During this time Jesus is approached by a rich young ruler with an important question about how to take hold of life eternal.
We continue to lift Dave (Judy) Brackney in prayer as his mother, and former member, Joan Brackneypassed away on February 14. A private service for the family was held on Friday. At the Brackey's request Larry & Judy Crisler represented Central at the service.
Pray for Central Christian as we prepare to reopen for indoor services on March 21! A letter will be mailed with specific details within the week to addresses on file. If you do not receive a letter please contact the office to verify the information we have.
We are looking for the following items to be donated for the Homeless Project: toilet paper, wet wipes, and pocket sized hand sanitizer (no large bottles please).
Every year we support the Fuller Center who works to build, rehab, and preserve homes to help families in need. If you would like to pick up a bank (house) to fill they will be on a table outside the main entrance. You can drop them off at the church during business hours.
Continue to pray for those in our church, their families, and our community, who are struggling with long term illnesses or are recovering from injuries including Kim Mulkey, Jan Rodocker, Frances Dodds, and Chet & Sue Stratton.
For our Guests. We'd love to learn a little bit about you.
