Carl's been the Senior Pastor (he's actually our only pastor) since 2014. He has a vision for leading a church that engages people who want to grow, helps to redeem those who've been hurt, and is a safe place for people who have questions. He tries to be pretty honest about his own challenges in following Jesus, and encourages others not to feel like they need to fake it here. A couple of guiding principles for his ministry include understanding that all people bear God's image, and that Jesus is good news for all people (Luke 2:10). He wants the people who worship here to feel like they've had a taste of heaven, and leave feeling like they've been near Jesus.

Carl has been a volunteer staff member since 2015. His main responsibility is keeping Pastor Carl from doing stupid stuff. He also leads a men's bible study, has a mentoring ministry, and plans activities that bring men together. Carl loves spending time one-on-one with men who are seeking to grow in their relationship with Christ. Before coming to Central he had a long career in higher education in the area of sports management and as an Athletic Director.

Jodi wears several hats here at Central. In addition to being the Director of both our Celebration Station Preschool and Kids Ministry, she helps lead worship as part of the praise team. Jodi joined the staff in 2013, giving her the title of "oldest" staff member. She is gifted in sharing the love of Christ with our families and teaching their children that Jesus is their best forever friend. In her "spare time" she's out enjoying nature, hanging with her family (typically around the firepit), and listening to music of all kinds. Speaking of family, hubby Chris, and twins Joel and Jordyn, all play a vital role in our tech and music ministries. On a side note, Joel and Jordyn both recently graduated from boot camp and are pursuing opportunities in in the Air Force.

Julie, our newest staff member joined us in June 2019. Her family recently moved from Columbus to Urbana and she says a "Godwink" led her to Central. She brings with her a wealth of office experience and a unique ability to remember the names of most everyone she meets. She loves caring for the people of Central. She and her husband Randy have 4 adult children, and 3 grandchildren, all of whom are the loves of her life. You will likely see her with a camera, capturing special moments around the church...or a self portrait as she works from home during the stay at home mandate.

Laurie is the keeper of the books, budgets, and spreadsheets. She joined our staff last April, bringing with her years of financial experience...she started as a bank teller while she was in high school. She and her husband, Brian, have two beautiful daughters, Elyse and Rosalie. She enjoys her part time schedule which allows more time to be with her girls...outdoors in the sun. They also enjoy supporting local businesses, restaurants, and going to community events.

Annie is a dirt hatin' church cleanin' machine. She's been part of the team here at Central since 2018. Taking care of the church is more than a job for Annie, it's a ministry. She has a servants heart and helps make so many great things happen here. She treats her job like a ministry and preaches at Pastor Carl when he gets out of line. Annie runs her own cleaning business when she's not working here at the church. She has 2 sons, 1 daughter, several grand kids...and yes even great grand kids.

Vito's the church fixer. He volunteers several days each week fixin' whatever needs fixin'. Vito also serves on the Board of Elders and preaches every once in awhile. He retired early and likes to use his spare time helping out here at Central. When he's not here at the church he's probably either on his boat, or at a sporting event for one of his kids. |
Micah has led the praise band since 2016 and his passion is putting genuine worship ahead of doing a performance. The tech team and praise band has added many talented members over the years, and are always looking for members who share our vision! He wants to make sure that everyone keeps their focus where it should be, on God's great grace. Micah’s musical tastes run the gamut, but he especially likes folk and bluegrass. His favorite bands are Radiohead, Gary Clark, Jr. and Gregory Alan Isakov. When he's not leading the band he‘s at home with his wife, Meagan, kids Benjamin and Eloise...playing light sabers, or tabletop games. The other hat he wears is a Project Manager/Business Analyst in software development.

Chris leads a team of volunteers who work above the sanctuary in the sound booth, with all of the audio/visual aspects of a worship service. If you ever hear a horrible screeching sound...it's probably Chris's fault...look upstairs and give him a nasty glare, he can handle it. He and his wife Jodi (our kids director) have been at Central longer than anyone else on staff, they started here in 2013.

Nikki has been a Celebration Station Preschool teacher since 2017. She and her husband, Chino, have been married for 28 years and are blessed with two children, Brent and Tori. She thanks God everyday for her family and cherishes every moment she is able to spend with them. In her spare time she loves to craft, crochet, and finds time to work at the Olde Farmstead store.
