Larry Stratton
Free Burma Rangers

Larry grew up in Springfield graduating from Northeastern High School. After graduating from High School, Larry joined the Army and served as Sergeant with the 18th airborn Corp out of Fort Bragg. After his discharge he attended Bowling Green University where he earned a degree in Sports Management and was the team Captain and an Academic All-American with the Falcons football team. He later served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Florida Gators. Larry worked as an investigator with a law firm before doing a stint with the U.S. Peace Corps, where he developed a love for asian culture and a desire to devote his life to pursuing justice for oppressed people. This passion eventually led him to join the Free Burma Rangers in Myanmar, a nation torn by war and an ethnic cleansing campaign carried out by the Burmese Military. Free Burma Rangers is an organization that seeks to share the love of Jesus with people who are oppressed. Their mission is to give help, hope and love to oppressed people and to expose human rights atrocities. Larry serves as the Thailand/Burma-Information & Reporting Director/Ethnic Relief Teams Coordinator helping to train Myanmarese “rangers’ who operate medical field clinics, assist refugees, and collect evidence of human rights atrocities. Prior to joining the Free Burma Rangers Larry earned an M.A. in Intercultural Service/Leadership & Management.
